CUBS FANS BEND OVER!...

In the great low tax, small government conservative Mecca of Arizona the cubbie fans are getting ready to take it in the dugout. The winter home to the Chicago Cubs, Mesa, AZ, announced a deal to finance a new ball park for the Cubs. The nice people in Mesa voted the bond measure in the last election. Oh, by the way cubbie fans, they voted for you to pay for it! Yes that’s right YOU! The city of Mesa is going to pony up the dough for a part time home of a privately owned company. So where do you come in as a Cub fan? The money will be raised from an increase in the hotel tax and the ticket tax for those who attend spring training. That’s right! Low tax, small government Arizona is going to pay for the building a facility for a private, for profit company and when you take a vacation to see your beloved Cubs, YOU will pay the bill! This is another example how hypocritical the conservatives are. They will happily raise your taxes and pass that money on to a private business, but help you with health care! Ha! Want an extention to your unemployment? "Not on my watch" the republicans will tell you.

When the Cubs tried to pull the same stunt at home the Democrats here told them they had to be crazy! Raise 200 million to remodel a private business at a time when city and state social services are being cut? Not going to happen! But that’s the difference between real Democrats and republicans. Republicans can always justify a little more for their corporate buddies.

CRAZY DAYSWE LIVE IN....

In the House of Representatives the Republican leader ship has some decisions to make. They now have control of the House and must decide who will be committee chairmen. If you thought some form of sanity would prevail, dig this. The ranking republican member on the energy and commerce committee is Fred Upton of Michigan. Common sense would say put Upton as the chairman of that committee. But Rush Limbaugh and the wing nuts feel he is not “conservative enough”. Why? Because Upton supported legislation to phase out the use of incandescent light bulbs. I have written about this issue before. (See april 7 2009 post.)

The incandescent bulb is the horse and buggy in the age of space travel. This shows how crazy the right is. Their test of loyalty is support of a light source that hasn’t changed in a 130 years! These are the people who want to lead us into the future. That future looks pretty dim.

APOLOGY ACCEPTED Mr. OLBERMANN

Keith Olbermann was suspended by MSNBC for exercising his Constitutional right to free speech. Yes giving money is a form of speech and is therefore protected by the Constitution of the United States. Olbermann was reinstated and should be back on the air Tuesday night. He apologized to his audience Tuesday in a statement to the New York Times.
In contrast Fux News’s Mike “Gomer Pile” Hickabee backed off of his reporting that Obama’s trip to India would cost 200 million dollars, but offered no apology for hi s misreporting the facts. Apparently that is the state of broadcast news in this age. MSNBC cans its people for Constitutional protected speech and Fux News is pulling shit out of their asses and no one cares.

Beware! In every straw poll Mike Huckabee is in the top 5 for the Republican nomination!

I know, I know I've been gone too long, but hay shit happens!

So down to business. We got our asses handed to us in the midterm election. I hate the idea of John "Boner" Boehner as speaker of the house as much as the next person with a IQ above luke warm, but that's the situation. We have to deal with a new reality. The Republicans ran dirty campaigned with dirty money. So that means we have to work harder and smarter. The first thing I want you to do is notice how fast the Rebooblicans renig on everything they ran on. Which is not all bad because most of what they ran on was total bullshit! I mean come on! Tax cuts for the top 2% of the country because they might create some jobs. They got the tax break in 2003 and we did nothing but loose jobs until Obama got into office. So much for the wonderful rich pissing their awesomeness on us dirt bags who repay their greatness with requests of a little health care so we don't die from stupid shit that could be cured if caught in time.
