FINALLY!.....
We have a health care bill!
It is not perfect. It doesn't include a public option.
It places significant restriction on a woman's reproductive options.
But, it's not bad.
It takes away the insurance companies protection from anti-trust laws.
It gives people greater options when shopping for coverage.
It allows people to stay with the coverage they have if they are happy with it.
No...there are no "Death Panels", rest easy Grandma.
No...undocumented immigrants will not be covered.
(Federal law has barred "illegals" from getting any type of
Federal benefits since 1996, sorry tea baggers!)
No, the Republican party did not support this bill.
They had a different bill that was much easier to understand.
Don't get sick. If you do get sick, die quickly!
The republicans are already boohooing on how the democrats
don't get the message of the Nov. 2 elections. "People are tired
of the borrowing and taxes " they say.
But let me point out a few things "THEY" don't want to talk about.
First, Ole Billy Clinton gave us a balanced budget and a surplus, THEY
brought back deficit spending.
Second, the Bush tax cuts are still in effect. Obama has only cut taxes more!
He has not raised taxes! If he did the deficit would be more in control.
And last...I know 2 out of 3 isn't bad, but come on!
Winning the governors race in Virginia(Red State) is not a surprise.
Winning in New Jersey against an unpopular incumbent, wow, how tough is that.
Now that brings us to the 23 rd district race in New York. This race was a three way
contest between a Democrat , a republican and a tea bagger Conservative running as an
independent. The RNC and our old friend Sarah Palin supported the tea bagger.
Well, guess what! The Democrat won! For the first time in 150 years that
seat has a Democrat in it.
So now on the the Senate.
Call your senators now and tell them to pass this bill!

Not that she's paranoid, but....

Sorry I was away for so long, but My Mom passed away in September.
Getting back to normal is hard when you have to redefine normal.

PUT THE KOOLAID DOWN KIDS AND LISTEN...
Ok. So I already talked to you about the health care battle going on. I told you to call you Representatives and Senators. I hope you do so.
Right now the debate is being controlled and distorted by the insurance companies.
It is most important that you young people out there get involved, get educated and make yourself heard. I watch the videos of the town hall meetings and most of those in attendance are older people who are on Medicare or soon will be.
Most of you younger people don’t think much about health care or its cost. This is a BIG mistake. It’s not hard to have one medical issue and end up $20,000, $30,000 or $40,000 in debt. This can mean starting your own family deep in debt or with bad credit.
You young people need to understand these issues and what they can mean to you. You also need to understand that right now, people with a lot of money and people who have government provided health care are running the debate. You need to make yourselves heard.
We need reform that includes a public option and does not tax health care benefits. We should have the freedom to choose the plan best for us. That’s what reform should give us, choice. Right now insurance companies have all the power to decide who gets care and coverage and who does not. Let’s level the playing field.

So here we are with the summer almost over. The debate on health care reform has turned into a gun tottin’ shouting match, thanks to the tea baggers. We have seen some strange things…
Seniors on Medicare standing with signs that had slogans like…
“No Government Health Care!”
Are these folks really that stupid?
But with the summer winding down and the news cycle turning to new things, maybe we can sit down and take a good look at heath care. Why are there people so opposed to the reform bill?
“I don’t want the Government involved in health care, its tyranny!”
What about the millions of Americans covered by
Medicare and love it?
What about the millions who can’t get private coverage because the insurance companies can refuse them coverage?
The truth is the insurance companies have for years slowly culled out of their rolls people they don’t want to insure.
The old…
Those with preexisting conditions…
The poor and those who are considered a finical risk…
So think about what this meant to you.
We will all get old…50% of Americans will get some form of cancer in their lifetime…and anyone can lose their job.
So do we really want to leave all the options for health care up to the insurance companies?
I think not!
Show your support for a real choice in health care.
Call your representative in Congress at their home district office. Tell them that you are a resident in their district and tell them you support a health care bill that includes a public option. Even if your representative doesn’t support your position, they pay attention to calls from their districts.
To find out who is your rep. Use this link.

Then look up their home district office. This office should be near you in your state. You can even visit their office and talk to their staff or maybe the congressman in person if you’re lucky.

I CAN'T BREATH!!!!!!!
Ok, so you may have read my rant on health care. If not, please drop down and check it out and post a comment.
Now on to Cap and Trade.
A lot of people and groups are trying to scare you into opposing the cap and trade bill that just passed the House and is on its way to the senate, where thanks to the Minnesota Supreme court, Al Franken is the 60th Democratic vote. Cap and trade will limit the amount of pollution that a company can release into the atmosphere. A company can come into compliance with the limits in two ways, by lowering the amount released by upgrading their pollution controls or changing to greener alternatives (the Cap), or by buying credits from companies that can sell their unused credits (the Trade). The law gives financial incentives for businesses to limit their output of pollution. An electric company would save money by switching from coal burning plants to solar and wind power production. Note that the law does not force the closing of coal or other high pollution plants, but gives them a way to keep operating and gives an incentive to upgrade their pollution controls. For forward thinking companies that have already lowered their pollution output they can make money by selling their unused credits to others.
Now most of the arguments used against the bill center around what it will cost. The logic is that controlling pollution cost businesses to much and we should just let them do what they need to do…..
What a load of bullshit!
Ya know it’s cheaper to allow a company to dump toxic waste into the local river! So why don’t we allow them to do that! It is the same thing, right? Why don’t we let them dump waste from nuclear power plants into Lake Michigan? It would be cheaper for the power company. Just because it’s cheaper and better for business doesn’t make it right. When these power plants burn coal without the upgraded scrubbers not only do tons of Co2 get pumped into the air but a lot of other nasty shit as will. PCBs, arsenic, and mercury, just to name a few. Understand that this is a real treat to us all. Even wild salmon are now showing up with levels of mercury high enough to be dangerous to children and pregnant women….thanks ComEd!
Back 50 years ago, before the Clean Air and Water act, many of the streams and rivers in the upper Midwest were so polluted nothing lived in or near them. The Chicago River, which was once so polluted it would catch on fire, is now clean enough for recreational use like canoeing and fishing. The Fox River west of the city was once so polluted it was known for dead fish and water fowl that covered its banks. Now a walk along the Fox will bring you face to face with geese, egrets, ducks, and my favorite the great blue heron. There is a thriving business in canoe rentals and bait shops along the Fox, which has some of the biggest flathead catfish you have ever seen.
What are these things worth to us? Do you want to talk money? OK. How much less will we spend on medical needs? From asthma, cancer and other conditions that are caused or aggravated by pollution. Why does the power company needs to spew toxins into the air to make a profit but you should pull yourself up by you own boot straps and pay for your kids asthma treatments?
Anyone in business will tell you must invest money to make money. Will it’s time we make an investment in our health and our future. It is passed the House, now call your Senator and tell them you want a cleaner future!

HAS ANYONE SEEN MY BEER?
Sorry ‘bout the long absence, things have been a little crazy around the ranch lately.
But, we have work to do!
The issues on most people’s minds today are health care and Iran.
First Iran…..
Many are crying that Obama should be doing more to help the opposition movement
Protesting the election. This attitude is problematic for 2 reasons.
First…the Iranian election is an internal matter. Just because we don’t like the outcome
doesn’t give us the right to intervene on one side or the other. I don’t like Amodeenajobasshat anymore than the next guy, but I don’t live in Iran. What would have been our reaction if after the 2000 election when Al Gore really did win the election Iran announced they were going to help out the Democrats.
Ok….sit back down …I feel the same way.
So, why do we feel we have the right to interject into their elections?
Second... look at the history of Iran. In 1979 they revolted and threw out a dictator only to install a Theocracy that controls everything they do.
Good luck Iran, I hope the best for your, but solve your own problems.
OK….now on to something important.
HEALTH CARE
I am not going to get into a big flap about socialism or free markets. This issue is not political.
This issue is a moral issue.
Let me say that again…HEALTH CARE IS A MORAL ISSUE.
Jesus commanded us to treat our neighbor as we would want to be treated. It’s simple. Give your neighbor that which you yourself would want.
When you are sick and need care you want someone to care for you. When you need medical care you want care that makes you well and you can afford. When your family needs care you don’t want to have to check you bank account to decide what to do, you just want to take them to the doctor and know you can get them help.
75% of all bankruptcies are caused by medical bills. After filing for bankruptcy people have a harder time finding a job, getting a home loan, getting a car loan, and even getting student loans for their kid’s college bill. These medical bills can come from things that no one has control over. No one ever asked to get cancer, or catch a life threatening illness, or get into a car accident.
We will ignore the teaching of Jesus (and every other religion) to insure the profits of a few insurance companies.
It’s time to remember that our government is by the people and for the people, not the insurance companies.

USA! USA! USA!
So.....I told everyone about buying American when you can.
If you can find an American product at a reasonable price, Buy it!
And I am not against buying stuff from other countries.
I drive a Nissan.
But somethings really piss me off!
Beck and I are in the Cracker Barrel having dinner the
other day. we went out to pay and Becky grabs a tub of
her fav butter mints.
I find some "Old tyme" peppermint sticks.
I pick them up and start to walk to the register.
I turn the bag over and there it is
"MADE IN MEXICO"
Right back in the barrel they went!
If there is an alternative, I will not knowingly buy
a product that was made in this country and the production has been
moved outside the counrty!
The alternative that night was to save my money!
If we all vote with our dollars, jobs will

WHEN PIGS FLY!
Uh oh……swine flu.
I thought we had it bad here in Morris with the coyote overpopulation.
Pigs seem to be the issue in Mexico.
I showed my concern by going to a new BBQ joint in Plainfield and having a pulled pork
Sandwich! I have to say, I think I felt better after eating the little pork burger.
So Arlen Specter jumps to the Democratic party. With the end of the recounts in Minnesota the Dems will have 60 votes in the Senate. Maybe we can get something done now.
I will admit…..its fun watching the Republican party implode. The best part is they don’t even seem to know its happening.
Maybe they will wake up when they have their next convention and the only people who show up are Rush Limbaugh, Megan McCain, Michael Steele and the Knights of the KKK. Just the look on Steele’s face = : o ...... would make it worth going……

KATY BAR THE DOOR!!!!!
Well, we survived the great coyote scare of '09.
Things got a little scary here in the wilds of Morris. As I made my way to the park Saturday morning, with my
trusty side kick, we were stoped cold by a lone coyote. I don't know if he was to be my spiritual guide on some kind of freaky trip like Homer Simpson. I didn't get a chance to find out. Izzy made his displaesure known right off, with all the bravado a 12 lb havanese can muster. needless to say, Mr. coyote was not impressed with his display of "I'll put a foot in your ass" growling. I flashed the wiley visitor with my trusty mag light which seemed to move to critter along. But, this coyote didn't move away scared. He walked away looking back like a drunk being shooed away from the scene of a bar fight, "Nothing to see here pal, Move along".
To warn the neighborhood I made up flyers at work. I would go into detail on this, but I'll let Becky tell you about them......when she stops laughing.

RELEASE TO HOUNDS!!!!
Things have been a little slow for me the past few weeks. I guess you can tell that by the lack so action on the blog. So sue me!
I know there have been things to consider, but I just don’t seem to give a crap. Maybe it’s because of Becky not feeling well, or work being a fucking zoo where everyone has jumped in with the polar bears, I don’t know.
There are big issues being debated. The torture memos and should We prosecute those responsible. It’s not that I don’t care, I just have a hard time getting fired up about a debate when no matter who wins the outcome will be the same. I don’t think anyone truly responsible will ever be brought to justice. Some low level CIA or Army officer may get thrown to the wolves, but no one who set or approved the policy will ever see the inside or a court room.
The best that we can hope for is that we learn not to trust our government to these rouges again.
On a lighter note Izzy is in his second week of obedience training. He is doing well. We have lowered the warning on the signs around the outside of the house to “hazardous” from “suicidal”. This isn’t because izzy is less of a threat; we just found that he can be distracted by bits of hot dog. Enter at your own risk.

ATTACK OF THE TEA BAGGERS!........
April, 15….Tax day! This year tax day was filled not with the usual news stories of late fillers at the post office and last minute tax advice. No, this year the news was filled with signs and protesters. The tea baggers held rallies all over the country. Now, I have the greatest sympathy for those protesting. Protesting is very American. I did not join in on this one because in my opinion it was more political theater than protest.
Where were these protesters when Bush was wiping his butt with the Constitution? Where were they when the national debt doubled under Bush?
They say they are for lower taxes. But it was Obama that lowered my taxes. I didn’t make enough to get a Bush tax cut.

THIS MAY TAKE A WHILE.......
I have written in the past about Milton Friedman and the right wing desire to end all government regulations. The idea is the free market is the best judge, and the business should be left alone. The market will take care of its self. I can’t understand why we continue to have this argument when we have seen in the past the complete folly of these ideas. The current banking crisis is just another in a long line of examples demonstrating the reality that business going unregulated is like a 4 year old playing with matches. When will we stop being surprised when the house burns down?
I need to make you understand why the market unregulated is a lost cause, with no hope of success. I can’t emphasize enough that you as a citizen of the must understand the underlying ideology for the desire for deregulation and the and how it can affect you. Understanding the true nature of the neo-capitalist free market ideology towards regulation will show you not only why it’s argued for so strongly, but why it fails and how its failure can leave you casualty in a holy crusade in which you have no stake.
To start to understand free market ideology one must turn to the divine. Many who adhere to the free market concepts come from a wide variety of backgrounds. It would seem that the beliefs in the free market are purely secular. But this is false. To fully understand Friedman capitalism you must look through the filter of spirituality. It doesn’t matter if he be Jew or Gentile, atheist or true believer, those who march under the banner of the “free market” all have but one god, the almighty dollar. Once you put things into this context one can start to understand. To the Christian faith, belief in Jesus Christ is everything. To the Jew, the Law of Moses guides every aspect of their lives. To the capitalist it is profit, pure and simple.
I want to make myself clear. I am not anti-capitalism. I don’t think socialism has all the answers. Like most arm chair economorons I have more questions than answers. But I have been around enough and have worked for enough Fortune 500 companies to know one thing for sure, BUSINESS WILL NEVER SELF REGULATE! At least not in a way that takes you or I or the environment into consideration.
When the Almighty Dollar says “Bring me a rainforest!” it must be appeased, and a rainforest will be felled. When it says “Let acid fall from the sky!” that will be done. When the Dollar asks for a human sacrifice, it will be given one. All one has to do is look at recent events in the news to see the great Almighty Dollars workings. 4 die from salmonella poisoning from peanut products. E-coli in ground beef and in salsa of all things. Poison in dog and cat food. Drywall in new homes making people sick. Few days go by without a new headline. I know what some will say, “These are accidents, people make mistakes.” Don’t believe it! It’s not rocket science! We know how to process peanuts to make them safe. Ford could have made a Pinto with a safe gas tank. We know how e-coli gets into beef, and how to prevent it.
In a perfect world businesses would do the right thing and make their products safe. Since the industrial revolution we stop being an agrarian society living on our own farms making our own food, we have needed the regulation of the government to keep us safe. From the meat packing industry made famous in Upton Sinclair’s Jungle, to the regulation of patented medicines, only the governmental regulation has stopped the unscrupulous from killing us. I know! That’s not human sacrifice! But tell me. What is the difference between some ancient high priest sacrificing a member of the tribe and a c.e.o. pushing production “through puts", knowing that doing so will make more money but the food less safe? The tribal leader my truly believe that the human sacrifice will bring his people good fortune. The c.e.o . believes that increasing production with fewer people will bring the company good fortune.
This is a country where everyone may worship as they want. And I find no problem with those who choose to pursue financial gain at any level. But we don’t allow the faithful to do anything they want. We don’t allow churches to break the law just because their religion says it’s ok to. We don’t allow the zealot of any religion to kill because their god tells them to. Why would you allow those who love money to do whatever they what in the name of their god? Allowing business to self regulate is as smart as following Jim Jones to Guyana.

WHAT A BUNCH OF.....

So there has been a lot of talk about these new light bulbs, the cfl’s, or compact fluorescent lights. They are used to replace incandescent light bulbs. Now to understand
Why we are getting rid of the old light bulbs just do this little experiment. Turn a 40 watt light bulb on for about 10 minutes and then give it a big wet kiss! After you get back from the emergency room you’ll say “Damnit asshole, that was hot!”. Well yes! You see
The heat from the incandescent bulb is wasted energy. The job of a light bulb is light, not heat. Then, after you heal, repeat the experiment with a cfl. No burn! The cfl is so much more efficient at converting electricity into light it uses about 60% less.
So switching to cfl’s is a no brainer. Well, not for some people. When the government
Mandated the phase out of incandescent bulbs the right wing nut jobs went into high gear.
It’s a socialist plot!
they are bringing mercury into our homes!
you have to recycle the cfl’s …..GASP!!!
You would think Obama had personally told everyone
to store nuclear waste in the garage.
People, let’s get real. Fluorescent lights have been around since the 40s. We have had them in our homes since the 50s. The only difference between the 4 foot bulbs everyone knows and the new cfl is the cfl is designed to go in a standard light socket so you can use them without replacing all of your lamps, what a commie plot. You can even get cfls that work with dimmers.
A long time ago a wise man said “A penny saved, is a penny earned”
It is far cheaper to save electricity than it is to build power plants. It is just that simple.
So when you see someone buying lots of old bulbs to stock up,
tell them to light those bulbs like a proud American! Then give those bulbs a big kiss!

Constitution to take away the right of marriage for the gay and lesbian community.
Isn’t it ironic that the people who talk so much about Liberty
And individual rights, would work so hard to take away other
peoples rights.
No one is free, unless we are all free.
The only time we used the Constitution of the United States to limit
the rights of the people (the 18th amendment prohibition of alcohol)
we were met with complete failure. The U.S. Constitution and the state constitutions have power because they give us rights, not because they take them away.
Oh, and be the way Ted Stevens is still a corrupt piece of crap!

Here is the problem with Friedman.
That business should be allowed to engage in whatever it wants, without any government control or regulation. The problem, it doesn’t work. Business has shown time and time again that it will never self regulate enough to “stay within the rules of the game, or be free of deception and fraud.
We have followed Friedman economics in this country for almost 30 years now. Through it we have seen the middle class shrink, our borders subverted and government of the people is almost a thing of the past.
Capitalism is not the problem. Socialism is not the problem. The problem is human nature. Without laws society degrades into chaos. Business is the same.
Business will cut, drill, kill, dump, use-up, destroy anything and defraud anyone because their god has commanded them to do so. Their god is the almighty dollar and their standard of righteousness is “more green, more godly”.

Things have been a little crazy, sorry I haven't posted . Not that there isn't things to talk about.

The one thing I do want to bring up is this abortion situation in Brazil.
The Catholic church has excommunicated the doctors and the mother of the 9 year old girl who was raped by her stepfather. She was pregnant with twins from the rape.
Her mother and doctors received the worst punishment the church could give.
Guess what the child rapist stepfather got.......Nothing!
I guess the Catholics still don't see the rape of a child as wrong.
This is why separation of church and state is improtant people!

Alright, so this has been running through my head from some time now.
Some of you may have heard of Ray Comfort. Ray is Kurt Cameron’s buddy and founder of The Way of the Master Ministries. For a long time I thought of Ray as Amusing little sideshow with his straw man arguments and his cute Kiwi accent. With Kurt Cameron as a partner, they make up the “Laurel and Hardy” of the evolution debate.
I call their idea the, “God Dog” theory. More on that later.
But few weeks back I was listening to the Thom Hartman show which had Ray Comfort as a guest. For the most part, the exchange was what I always expect from Ray.
Evolution is wrong, no one can prove it, there are no transitional forms…..
Blah, Blah, Blah…….
Ok, so after the normal stick, Thom said something that struck me as really stupid.
He said, “…Who did Cain marry after he killed Abel?”
Now in scholarly arguments on the Bible this is the intellectual equivalent to saying…..
…………………“I know you are, but what am I?” ………..
But in a debate on evolution my reaction was “Where the hell did that come from!”
At this point I am thinking Thom is done, Ray bested him. But then when all seemed lost!
Our hero Ray Comfort showed the World his debating prowess by answering Thom.
Ray said…
“He married a distant sister, anyone could make that connection”
Wow, leave it to Ray to not only answer a stupid question with a stupid answer, but blow his entire argument out of the water at the same time!
Anyone could make that connection
But With years of research and volumes of transitional forms Ray can’t make the connection Darwin made 150 years ago.
After this exchange I no longer see Ray Comfort as amusing or cute.
He is a fraud and a liar who should be called as such.
It is time we start taking these people to task for their lies and misrepresentations.
I can understand disagreements based on religious beliefs.
But to being willfully ignorant or misleading shows contempt for
both science and God.

I HAVE NEVER HAD A MEDICAL CONDITION.....
..........That beer would not cure or at least greatly improve.
So when I came down with this years version of the killer cold I went out at go some medication.
They always say take vitamin C for a cold, so I got some Blue Moon and tossed in a orange!
PROST!
I feel better already!
I really don't feel much like ranting today. I think I'll finish my beer and get some rest.
I don't think the conservatives will come to their senses overnight, so I am sure we will
have plenty to talk about tomorrow.
Remember, Be right by going LEFT!

**DRUG ADDICT HOSTS CPAC CONVENTION**
Rush Limbaugh gave the keynote speech to the CPAC convention this week. For those of you who don't know what CPAC is, let me explain. CPAC is the Conservative Political Action Committee. C P A C get it?
Rush ranted on and on about liberty and freedom. Don't be fool people!
The conservative movement does not believe in either!
They don't believe in free and open elections.
All you have to do is watch the debate going on right now about the stimulus bill
tax cuts. For 8 years the republican party gave the top 2% big tax cuts while the rest of us
saw our taxes go up. Yes up! You say your taxes didn't go up! Well you better look again.
To help pay for the Bush tax cuts, money to the states was cut. To make up the difference
sales taxes went up, state fees for everything from drivers licences to hunting permits went up.

OMFG!!!!

That must have been the thought going through Bobby Jindals mind while he watched Obamas
speech before Congress last night.
He prerecorded his message and had no way to make any edits or changes. So, after one of the best speeches since FDR what was any republican going to say but.."I'll just shut the F#&k up now and go away."
But no , Bobby J., the Great Brown Hope of the republican party, walked out in front of the cameras and shot his 2012 campaign right in the foot.
Sorry Bobby, Call Sarah, maybe there is room on the republican "why didn't I keep my damn mouth shut!" bench. (oh, by the way Bobby, the club where CPAC is having the annual golf outing doesn't admit people of.... "color"......sorry....But, do be a good boy and grab our bags.)

Sounds like sour grapes to me....
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, has said he wouldn't accept some of the recovery act money.
Barbour claimed that accepting money in the unemployment portion of the plan would force Mississippi to raise unemployment insurance rates in the future. He called it......
.....a "tax on employment"
This is another example of how the conservative, republican mind works.
Unemployment pay, worker compensation, social security, unions....free and open elections.
Anything that may benefit the average person, but is a inconvenience to business
they will fight against. Open your eyes to the pattern, follow the money.
This Ass put the people in his state in the position where they may be without unemployment benefits so he can make a political point.

Nearly all items for Veterans Affairs were reduced and the $2 billion the Senate wanted for VA construction was wiped out altogether. The VA did get one thing: $1 billion for medical facilities renovation and retooling.

Ok Moses...
Maybe someone else should look at the map!
For 8 years the republicans held the White house, and most of the Congress. For 8 years the Dow went nowhere, real incomes dropped, and we slowly lost good jobs.
A small portion of the population gorged themselves on tax cuts, while the rest of us watched our $20 an hour jobs go away so we could enjoy a service industry job making $9 an hour at Starbucks.
I am not going to tell you that Obama is going to make everything peaches and cream.
But the first thing you do when you find yourself in a hole, IS STOP DIGGING!
Tax cuts, I'd love to have some! But what do tax cuts mean to someone with no job!
That reminds me of the time I told a little boy to take a bucket of water to the pond to give the fish a drink....: )
The republicans see themselves as Moses leading us to the Promise Land....
But all we have done is wander...Maybe they should let someone else look at the map!

As the Ash Wednesday fast approaches might I recommend weathering lent the way the monks in Munchen (Munich) did. BEER! yes Beer. And the beer they made was double bock.
Salvator made by Paulaner is one of the best. So, before fat Tuesday run out and get some!

Real Dougs vote Obama
There is a columnist at Townhall.com (also known as the Townhallfullofshit.dumbass) by the name of Doug Giles. Now with a great first name you'd think the guy might have some sense, but no. The guy is another example of the bedwetting conservative asshats that cry like little girls when they don't get what they want, and they want everything! The guy goes on and on about how let down we Democrats should be because Obama hasn't fixed everything Bush F#$ked up. Sorry to make your article a complete waste of time, but those of us with a little common sense know no one will fix things as fast as Bush screwed things up. Buy American Bullshit
Ok, buying American is not really bullshit. What is bullshit is this Lou Dobbs media controversy that the stimulis bill doesn't have a "buy Ameican" clause. First off I'd like to say I do buy American as much as I can. It only makes sence to me if you buy an American made product the guy living next door to you keeps his job. If he has a job, he buys products and services that keep you in a job. But I also don't believe in spending my money on crap just because it is made in this country. I also believe in fair trade not "free trade". I don't believe there is such a thing as free trade, someone is always trying to "tip the scale" in their favor.
So go out and look for the Made in America label....then buy it!

Bout goddamn time!
We finely have a jobs bill from Washington. No thanks to the Republicans. Now if we can get our troops home things will really be looking up. Stoped at my local starbucks today. They were takin donations of coffee for the troops. Bought a pound of sumatra for you guys and gals. Hope you like it!
