Alright, so this has been running through my head from some time now.


Some of you may have heard of Ray Comfort. Ray is Kurt Cameron’s buddy and founder of The Way of the Master Ministries. For a long time I thought of Ray as Amusing little sideshow with his straw man arguments and his cute Kiwi accent. With Kurt Cameron as a partner, they make up the “Laurel and Hardy” of the evolution debate.

I call their idea the, “God Dog” theory. More on that later.

But few weeks back I was listening to the Thom Hartman show which had Ray Comfort as a guest. For the most part, the exchange was what I always expect from Ray.
Evolution is wrong, no one can prove it, there are no transitional forms…..
Blah, Blah, Blah…….

Ok, so after the normal stick, Thom said something that struck me as really stupid.
He said, “…Who did Cain marry after he killed Abel?”
Now in scholarly arguments on the Bible this is the intellectual equivalent to saying…..
…………………“I know you are, but what am I?” ………..
But in a debate on evolution my reaction was “Where the hell did that come from!”

At this point I am thinking Thom is done, Ray bested him. But then when all seemed lost!
Our hero Ray Comfort showed the World his debating prowess by answering Thom.
Ray said…

“He married a distant sister, anyone could make that connection”

Wow, leave it to Ray to not only answer a stupid question with a stupid answer, but blow his entire argument out of the water at the same time!
Anyone could make that connection
But With years of research and volumes of transitional forms Ray can’t make the connection Darwin made 150 years ago.

After this exchange I no longer see Ray Comfort as amusing or cute.
He is a fraud and a liar who should be called as such.
It is time we start taking these people to task for their lies and misrepresentations.
I can understand disagreements based on religious beliefs.
But to being willfully ignorant or misleading shows contempt for
both science and God.
