So there has been a lot of talk about these new light bulbs, the cfl’s, or compact fluorescent lights. They are used to replace incandescent light bulbs. Now to understand
Why we are getting rid of the old light bulbs just do this little experiment. Turn a 40 watt light bulb on for about 10 minutes and then give it a big wet kiss! After you get back from the emergency room you’ll say “Damnit asshole, that was hot!”. Well yes! You see
The heat from the incandescent bulb is wasted energy. The job of a light bulb is light, not heat. Then, after you heal, repeat the experiment with a cfl. No burn! The cfl is so much more efficient at converting electricity into light it uses about 60% less.

So switching to cfl’s is a no brainer. Well, not for some people. When the government
Mandated the phase out of incandescent bulbs the right wing nut jobs went into high gear.
It’s a socialist plot!
they are bringing mercury into our homes!
you have to recycle the cfl’s …..GASP!!!
You would think Obama had personally told everyone
to store nuclear waste in the garage.
People, let’s get real. Fluorescent lights have been around since the 40s. We have had them in our homes since the 50s. The only difference between the 4 foot bulbs everyone knows and the new cfl is the cfl is designed to go in a standard light socket so you can use them without replacing all of your lamps, what a commie plot. You can even get cfls that work with dimmers.

A long time ago a wise man said “A penny saved, is a penny earned”
It is far cheaper to save electricity than it is to build power plants. It is just that simple.
So when you see someone buying lots of old bulbs to stock up,
tell them to light those bulbs like a proud American! Then give those bulbs a big kiss!
